After Five English　英語がしゃべりたくなるブログ☆: 料理＆味の表現どどん。

おはようございます！もう9月ですよ。早いなぁ・・・・・

9月、カナダでは新学期です。
夏休みの間空いてたバスも、
ラッシュアワーは学生がそこに加わって一気に混み始めます（そこかい！）

私も9月から昼間の授業は新しいオフィスで新しいクラスを受け持つことになるので、
なんだかんだドキドキします。
でもちょっとホットとしているのは、ラッシュアワーにぶつからないのと、
オフィスはCoquitlam（コキットラム）にあるので、
反対方向で電車が空き気味なんです（＾＾）

ちょっと座れるだけでも有難いですね。。。

さてさて、
今回はですね、
料理が趣味な友達からの料理・食べ物に関する
質問に応えつついきたいと思います。

まずは、味から。以下、形容詞です。
パリパリ crispy -> Potato chips are crispy
サクサク crunchy -> Rice crispies are crunchy
ねばねば sticky -> Rice cake is sticky
べたべたする（もちもちもココに含まれるときがあります） gooey -> Honey is gooey
もちもち（沢山噛む） chewy -> Snickers are chewy and gooey
しっとり moist -> Freshly baked bread is moist
こくがある rich -> The soup is rich in cream
パサパサdry -> Bread crumbles are dry
ポロポロ crumbling -> Cook the ground meat until it is crumbling to make Soboro
ふっくら puffy / bloated -> The Mochi becomes puffy in the oven
すっきり refreshing -> Lemon iced tea on hot days is refreshing
スーッとする soothing -> Peppermint tea is soothing
すっぱい sour -> Lemons are sour
甘い sweet -> Chocolate is sweet
塩っ辛い salty -> Some pickles are salty
ピリッとする tangy -> Some tropical fruits are tangy
辛い hot/spicy -> Spicy sauce/hot sauce (Chilly sauce)
ぬるい warm (not hot enough) -> This tea is warm
濃い（コーヒーなど）strong -> This coffee is strong flavoured
薄い（コーヒーなど）weak -> This coffee is weak flavoured
濃い（食べ物など）strong -> This sauce is pretty strong
薄い（食べ物など）light -> This sauce is pretty light
なめらか creamy -> This sauce is creamy
こってり・とろみがある thick -> A thick sauce

そして食べ物に対する表現。名詞たちです。
汁 juice -> The juice of the dumpling
後味 after taste -> After taste of beer
一口（食べ物） a bite -> Please have a bite
一口（スープ）a sip -> Can I get a sip?
量 portion -> Take a portion of meal
量 serving -> Calories per serving
味 taste/flavour (flavor) -> A rich flavor
調味料 seasonings -> We don't have enough seasonings

以下、料理方法！動詞たちです。
（でもってこれらにedを付けると形容詞になりますぞ）
発酵する ferment (fermented) -> Ferment some soy to make natto
燻製にする smoke (smoked) -> We smoke salmon to make a smoked salmon
焼く（バーベキューや肉など）grill (grilled) -> Let's grill this meat
焼く（火を通す）cook (cooked) -> Let's cook rice
煮込む stew (stewed) -> Stew the curry for two hours
炒め物やスープなどを混ぜる stir (stired) -> Stir the clam with some white wine
クリームなどを混ぜる whisk (whisked) -> Whisk the flour and milk together
卵を混ぜる beat (beaten) -> Beat the egg
油で揚げる deep fry (deep fried) -> Deep fry some potatoes
炒める stir fry (stir fried) -> Stir fry the meat and vegetable
